This design evolved from a partially formed piece. I engraved over the uneven interior to create a soft, reflective surface, mimicking the veining and undulations of a wild rose petal.

The thorns and stems flicker black and white, while a swirling pattern of bare winter branches spirals around the base. Turning the bowl upside down it seems as if you are looking through and beyond the hedgerow, into the rotating spheres of the cosmos.
